| Draft of Kentucky State Perkins Plan 2009-2013 |

The 1998 Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Education Act was designed to improve, expand and develop programs for students enrolled in vocational and technical education. The Federal Programs Branch oversees administration of the grant monies received from this Act to secondary and post-secondary educational institutions in Kentucky that have vocational programs. The administration function involves both the awarding and the oversight of the funds to assure that the intent of the law is being met within the schools receiving Perkins funding. This helps assure that schools are using funds for program development and improvement rather than program maintenance. Please feel free to contact us for information regarding Perkins funding.
